The Open Bloom Ring is the flower with nothing at its center. Where the stone version holds a gem, this one leaves the center open, and what remains is the gold cage of petals and the space inside it.
The geometry:
The ring starts from the hexagon, the most stable pattern in nature, and the petals grow out from it in a radial set. Each petal is a thin curved blade, and the blades sit a fixed distance apart around the dome. The gaps between them let light into the center and out the other side, so the ring reads as a solid gold sphere from across a room and as an open cage up close.
On the body:
The ring sits high on the hand and holds a volume of empty space above the finger. The open center is the whole idea. The petals hold the space and let it breathe. This piece is about the courage to open and take up room. It holds nothing precious, only the space to exist.
The life it enters:
This is the ring for a hand that talks. It catches light from every angle when the hand moves, and it is the piece people reach out to touch.
