The Wrap Necklace is the largest piece in the collection and the most commanding. The ribbed form of the original is scaled up to follow the collarbone and the sternum.
The Geometry:
The necklace feels alive when worn. The teeth are small reflectors on a curved spine. As you move, they gather the light in the room and throw it back in a shifting pattern. The bright points travel faster than your body does, following the principles of caustics.
The same patterns appear on the floor of a swimming pool, inside a water cup, or in a raindrop making a rainbow. The forms that define this are the fold and the cusp, and this piece plays with both of them.
The pattern on the necklace is carefully designed so that the teeth reflect light. The points of the teeth are perpendicular to the surface, as a rule. When the curve turns they fan apart, and when it eases they close. The pattern is determined by the curvature, and it is made visible through form.
On the body:
All this the body reads before the mind can name it.
The piece sits on the body as an external spine, heavy and asymmetrical. It holds the chest and pulls the posture upright while it carries real weight. It is the fullest form of the armor, worn at the center of the body.
The life it enters:
This is a large statement piece. It draws attention the moment you walk into a room, and someone always asks about it. It should be worn as the main piece.
