The 3-8 Shell Bracelet takes its name from its width, three eighths of an inch. It keeps the ribbed ridge of the shell and concentrates it into a single thin line around the wrist. The ridges run along the top of the band the way vertebrae run along a spine, and the two ends taper to smooth points.
The Geometry:
A spine carries load through many small segments, and each segment takes its share. This bracelet is built on the same rule. The ribs repeat along one curve, and each one sits at a slightly different angle to the light. The surface breaks the light into a line of small reflections that moves when the wrist moves, and the smooth ends let the line begin and finish cleanly.

This bracelet is thinner than the original cuff, and it stacks easily. It sits close on the wrist and holds the ridge of the shell in one articulated line around the arm.
