The Spine Shell Ring is the smooth shell at the scale of the finger. The ridges are gone, and what remains is a single faceted band with a sharp edge that runs around the finger.
The geometry:
A shell has two sides, the ridged outside and the smooth inside. This ring takes the inside. The band is folded along one line, and the fold gives it two flat faces that meet at an edge. Each face catches the light at a different angle, so the ring reads as two tones of gold that trade places with every gesture.
On the body:
The ring sits close on the finger and keeps the texture of the shell at the smallest scale. The wearer can wear it alone or stack it with the Spine Shell Ring, and the two together show the two sides of the armor, the ribbed and the smooth. It can be worn on several fingers for a bolder look.
The life it enters:
This is the ring that gets bought in twos. It goes on with the others in the morning, and it stays on through everything the day brings.
