Flower Alloy 1 is the largest vase in the collection. It is a solid cast brass vessel with a ribbed surface that holds the memory of a petal in the weight of metal.
The geometry:
A flower takes its shape from pressure, from light, and from what it takes to survive. Its form is the record of that. Flower Alloy holds the same tension in metal. The ribbed surface comes from the logic used to design complex building facades, and a hexagon underneath gives the soft form its structure. The ribs run from the base to the rim, and they fold inward where the form compresses and open where it swells.
In the room:
The vase casts an organic shape into something permanent. As a vase it holds real blooms, the living thing inside the permanent one. It anchors the room from a table or a shelf, and the ribs throw a line of reflections across the surface beside it. This is armor for the home.
The life it enters:
This is the piece for the center of a table. It holds peonies in May and bare branches in November, and it stands on its own when the flowers are gone.

The Geometry:
The teeth are small reflectors on a curved spine. As you move they gather the light in the room and throw it back in a shifting pattern, the same pattern water throws on the floor of a pool. This phenomenon is called caustics. This is the piece where I first saw it happen. The necklace scales it up to the whole chest.
On the body:
It takes the motion of the natural world and fixes it in a ribbed form that wraps the wrist, rigid, protective, shaped to the arm. It makes instinct permanent and heavy. It is the original armor, and it grounds the wearer.
The life it enters:
This is a statement piece. It draws attention the moment you walk into a room, and someone always asks about it. It goes with a plain sleeve or nothing else on the arm.
